It’s a heartfelt mix of creativity and generosity. Participants enter their soups—ranging from classics like Taco Soups to more unique ones like Pickled Mustard Green Soup or Thai Curry Soup—and compete for awards like People’s Choice or Judge’s Choice. The event also features extras, such as homemade cookies, bread donations, and prizes, which add to the warm, communal atmosphere. Plus, all the proceeds stay local in West Michigan to help blood cancer patients, which makes it a practical way to make a difference.
We love turning something as simple and comforting as soup into a way to raise awareness and funds. It’s not just about the food; it’s a chance for people to connect, share stories, and support a cause that’s clearly driven by passion and personal loss. The fact that it’s been running for 11 years and raises thousands shows it’s got staying power and real impact.
